People come to TalkWise for all sorts of reasons. Some arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on. Others simply know that something doesn’t feel right, or that what used to help no longer does. Both are good places to start.
I don’t see your struggles as something wrong with you. Overwhelm, numbness, anger and patterns that keep repeating usually make sense once we understand what they’re responding to. My work is about understanding that together, and making room for something different.
Sessions are available face-to-face in Stanthorpe or online, in 60 or 90 minute appointments.

Counselling and Trauma Therapy
This is the heart of my work. Sometimes that means talking through a difficult season, a relationship under strain or a loss. Sometimes it means going deeper, to experiences that still shape how you feel and respond today.
Some sessions are practical and focused on what’s in front of you right now. Others explore longer-standing patterns and where they began. I move between the two as you need, drawing on approaches including IFS and Brainspotting, and working with body, mind and relationships, always at a pace you set.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS was developed by Richard Schwartz. It understands the mind as made up of different parts, each with its own role and history, alongside a core Self that is naturally calm, curious and compassionate. Rather than trying to get rid of the parts that cause pain, we get to know them, including the protective parts that have worked hard to keep you safe. Many people find this brings a steadiness and self-understanding they hadn’t expected.
I have completed Level 1, 2 and 3 IFS training and continue ongoing professional development and supervision specific to IFS.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting was developed by David Grand. It works with the connection between where we look and what we feel. By finding and holding a particular point in your field of vision, a “brainspot”, we can reach experiences held in the body that talking alone doesn’t always touch. You stay in control throughout, and you don’t need to find the words for everything.
I am trained in Brainspotting and continue ongoing professional development and supervision specific to this approach.
Professional Supervision
Supervision offers counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, disability support workers and others in helping roles a space for support, reflection and learning, grounded in ethical practice and care for the practitioner as well as the work.
I am a PACFA and ACA Registered Supervisor and work with the RISE UP model, a structured framework that supports growth across every aspect of practice. If you’d like to know more, please get in touch.
What to expect
Getting started
You can book a free 15-minute chat to see whether we’re a good fit, or book a session directly through the client portal. Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an intake form and our terms of service through the portal to read before your first session.
Your first session
First sessions are 90 minutes, because there is usually a lot to talk through at the start. It’s a chance to get to know each other, talk about what has brought you here and what you’d like to be different. You set the pace, and there’s nothing you need to share before you’re ready.
Ongoing sessions
Ongoing sessions are 60 or 90 minutes, in person at the Piemont Building in Stanthorpe, or online.
Online sessions
Online sessions run on Zoom through the secure Zanda client portal. You’ll receive an email with your session link four days before your appointment.
How many sessions
This is different for everyone. Some people come for a few sessions, others for longer. We’ll check in together along the way about how things are going and what you need.
